Don Bosco Chullikara was established in the year 1996 with the intention of catering to the educational, social, economic, recreational, and cultural welfare of the marginalised people, especially youth who are away from the mainstream of the society. These activities are carried out in collaboration with the local community organisations and educational institutions that promote the welfare of the people.

REHABILITATION & EDUCATION OF THE DESTITUTE
In 2005 a boarding was started with facilities to cater to the educational and all-round growth need of the most marginalized boys of the locality particularly of the SC, ST and destitute. The community has been accommodating and accompanying nearly 40 destitute boys of the 8^th, 9^th and 10^thstandards every year. They stay with us and do their schooling in a Catholic Management School three kilometers away.

Their dietary, educational, recreational, spiritual and interpersonal needs are well cared for and followed up. Psychological care is also given by offering them facilities for counseling and guidance.  Opportunities and occasions are provided to bring out their innate potentials and develop their talents in all fields like general knowledge, group activities sports and games arts etc. Individual follow up is given to every one of them to form them into good and upright citizens of the society.

YOUTH ANIMATION
Don Bosco Chullikara freely welcomes the youth of the surrounding region and offers its infrastructure and facilities for their free but refined expression of the recreational, (sports, and games) cultural (celebration of festivals) societal (reach out programs) to the poor and needy) educational and relational needs. The youth gather formally on weekends in the evenings. Every year a career fest is organised for students from nearby schools and colleges to provide proper orientation and guidance for their career in life. Annually, Volleyball and Cricket tournaments are conducted for the youth in the region to create healthy competitive spirit and also bring out their potentials and talents in the domain of sports. The institution also offers support to colleges, schools and youth groups by way of conducting seminars on life skills, youth dynamics, orientation programmes etc.

SKILLING THE UNSKILLED
The Institute in collaboration with DB Tech India has been offering skill training programmes free of cost for the dropout and unemployed youth primarily of the BPL category in and around the district. Basics of communication and interpersonal skills are also taught to them for effective management. These certified courses help students find proper employment which is also done through the employment cell. Ongoing follow up of the students is also our priority. The Institute has been instrumental in the eradication of unemployment and poverty of many youths through the above-mentioned skill training programme.

EDUCATIONAL AID & TUITION CLASSES
The Institute with the support of BREADS has been catering to the advancement of education, particularly of the poorest but cleverer students through sponsorship programmes. The infrastructure and facilities are availed to the students of the neighbourhood for study. Tuition classes are offered in difficult subjects by experienced teachers.
