Don Bosco College, Angadikkadavu organises Public Hearing on SIA

Don Bosco Arts and Science college has organised a public hearing  based on the SIA.The SIA was on the development of the approach road for the construction of  Howrah model Hanging bridge from Ponnani to Purathoor in Malappuram District .This project can contribute a lot in the development of tourism, transportation and financial sector of the people living there. It also reduces the distance between Calicut and Ernakulam which is two important cities in Kerala. For this the government has to take over 2.6 hectors of land. Though some of the people lose their properties and livelyhood, it can bring a lot of development to this area. The public hearing was organised in Ponnani and Purathoor. Mr.Sebastian,SIA project coordinator explained about the study.  Officers of various government departments including Mr  Reghumani V.P. special  Tahasildar(K.I.I.F.B) Madhu K.P. DeputyTahasildar (R.B.D.C.K) Anas V.R(Project engineer)  etc., participated and listened to the concerns of the people. Around hundred people participated in the public hearing. People expressed their concerns over the compensation. Fr.Sojan, the Director of  Don Bosco SIA Unit proposed the vote of thanks
