Don Bosco College Chitradurga organizes a talk on Preventing Corruption
Don Bosco Degree College, Chitradurga, organized a talk on ‘The Role of Youth in Preventing Corruption’ on August 19, 2022.
The event was presided by Rev. Fr. Saji George, Rector, Don Bosco Group of Institutions. Rev. Fr. Jomon KJ SDB, Principal Don Bosco Degree College, Chitradurga, and Fr. Martin Vijay, Principal, Don Bosco ICSE High School, Chitradurga, were the other dignitaries.
The Chief Guest for the day was Justice N. Santosh Hegde. He gave an exemplary talk on how corruption is undermining the credibility of the public sector, eroding the trust in governments and their ability to steer a country to achieve high economic growth and shared prosperity. He highlighted that multiple factors contribute to the impact of anti-corruption efforts, including political leadership, institutional capacity, incentives, technology, transparency and collaboration.
The youth of today has a key role to play in preventing this social evil. Strengthening the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility, he said.
He also interacted with the audience and took up the questions raised by both the PU College and Degree College students in the Question and Answer session. It was a very informative and enlightening session for everyone.
