Don Bosco College Mannuthy Launches Four Year Undergraduate Program Under NEP 2020
Thrissur, Kerala – In a landmark event aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Don Bosco College Mannuthy inaugurated its Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) on July 1st, 2024. This initiative marks a transformative shift in Kerala’s higher education landscape. The FYUGP, designed to span four years, embraces a multidisciplinary approach, enabling students to pursue majors and minors across various disciplines. It includes a comprehensive curriculum of foundational, core, and elective courses aimed at providing a holistic educational experience. The program places a strong emphasis on skill development, internships, practical training, and research, thereby enhancing students’ employability and preparedness for advanced studies or research careers.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests and key figures in the education sector. Mr. Tojo Mathew, the Public Relations Officer of the Archdiocese of Thrissur and a close collaborator of Don Bosco Institutions, served as the chief guest and officially inaugurated the program. Mrs. Beena Muraly, a councilor of Thrissur Corporation and a staunch supporter of the institution, attended the ceremony and delivered a felicitous address. Rev. Fr. Cyril Edamana, the rector and manager of Don Bosco College, delivered an inspiring speech that motivated both faculty and students.
A crucial role in the preparation and success of the program was played by Dr. Fr. Johnson, the Principal of Don Bosco College. His keynote address was a highlight of the event, underscoring the importance of the new education system and the opportunities it presents.
