Don Bosco Golden years Association in Angamaly
The Community of Don Bosco Angamaly came up with a new venture to bring together the senior citizens in the neighbourhood who have crossed the age of sixty to spend some time together in the evenings for relaxation. The Salesain Community set up the ground floor of the Junior School for the care of the senior citizens by providing the space and facilities to read Newspapers, Magazines, Library books, play indoor games and to interact with one another. The Golden Years Association was inaugurated by Mr. Mathew Thomas, the Municipal Chairman of Angamaly. In his inaugural address, he praised the efforts of the school to reach out to its neighbourhood in carrying out the welfare activities for the seniors. Fr. Thomas Poovelickal SDB, the Pioneer of Don Bosco Angamaly was felicitated and honoured during the inauguration. Fr. Joseph Elavanal SDB, the Rector in his presidential address thanked the members of the Salesain Community, the Salasian Cooperators and the members of ADMA for their whole hearted support and cooperation and explained the real aim behind the Golden Years Association. The program had the presence of three Municipal Ward Councilors: Mr. Benny Moonjely, Mrs. Reetha Paul, Mr. Sandeep Shankar and more than 80 seniors from the neighbourhood. All of them appreciated the efforts of the Salesain School Community for the care that the school community extends. The Inaugural program came to a conclusion with the vote of thanks and by paying homage to Don Bosco.
