Don Bosco Irinjalakuda Organises 5K Run

As part of the diamond jubilee celebrations of Don Bosco School, Irinjalakuda, 5K RUN (5 kilometers running race) was organized on 1st April 2023 at Don Bosco, Irinjalakuda.

5K RUN was flagged off by Dr.R.Bindu, Minister for Higher Education, Kerala at 7.30 A.M at Don Bosco school premise. It was preceded by a warming session with zumba dance.

‘Run against drug abuse, run to stop violence against women’ was the tag line for the event.
Nearly 1000 participants age ranging from 2 to 71 years took part in the event. The route chosen for the event passed through Irinjalakuda city. It was a feast for the eyes to watch the partakers dressed in white T shirt running for a noble cause.

The finishing line was at Don Bosco school premise. Joel Sunny, the one who secured the first prize in Gents’ general category reached the finishing line within 20 minutes. In the Ladies’ General category Nadiya K.S. secured the first place. Prizes were distributed for various categories.

Prize distribution was done by Mr.Saneesh Kumar Joseph, MLA of Chalakudy Assembly constituency

Fr.Emmanuel Vattakunnel, Rector and Manager of Don Bosco Schools, Irinjalakuda welcomed all and Mrs.Laiza Sebastian proposed the vote of thanks. Fr.Santhosh Manikombel, Principal of Don Bosco HSS, Fr.Manu Peedikayil, Principal of Don Bosco Central School, Fr. Joyson Mulavarikkal the administrator and Fr. Josin Thazhethettu graced the occasion.
