Don Bosco Tech Launches 42nd Batch of NEXUS Phase 2 in Kollam

Kollam: Don Bosco Tech, Kollam Centre, inaugurated the 42nd batch of NEXUS (Phase 2), a free employment-oriented vocational training programme for youth. The inaugural ceremony and parents’ meeting were officially inaugurated by A.K. Hafeez, Mayor of Kollam Corporation.

As part of the programme, an Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign was conducted. Mayor A.K. Hafeez administered the anti-drug pledge to the students, who joined together in taking the pledge. Certificates were also distributed to students who had successfully completed their training at Don Bosco Tech.

In his inaugural address, the Mayor highlighted the importance of practical, employment-oriented vocational training in creating better career opportunities for unemployed youth. He encouraged eligible candidates from different parts of Kollam district to make maximum use of the free training opportunities offered by Don Bosco Tech and to register in advance for the courses.

The programme was presided over by Fr. Benjamin Pampackal, Community Rector and Parish Priest of Don Bosco. Fr. Antony Joseph, Director of Don Bosco Tech, Kollam Centre, delivered the welcome address.

Dhanya S., Councillor of Udayamarthandapuram Division, and A.J. Decruz, State Secretary of the KCBC Prohibition Commission, offered felicitations.

A parents’ interaction and doubt-clearing session was also conducted as part of the programme, providing parents with an opportunity to learn more about the training programmes and career opportunities available to the students.

Tinu Ruben, Coordinator of Don Bosco Tech Centre, Kollam, led the interaction session and proposed the vote of thanks.

The NEXUS programme aims to equip young people with practical skills and industry-oriented training, enabling them to access sustainable employment opportunities and build successful careers.
