Don Bosco Technical Institute, Hassan Inaugurates New Academic Year and Launches BOSCH LEAP Programme.
Don Bosco Technical Institute (ITI), Hassan, marked the commencement of its new academic session alongside the formal launch of the industry-oriented BOSCH LEAP Programme on campus today. The ceremony, organized under the guiding philosophy “Skills for a Brighter Tomorrow,” brought together dignitaries, educators, corporate partners, Past pupils and students to foster technical excellence and holistic development.
The event commenced at 11:00 AM with an invocation prayer song, setting a reflective tone for the day. Rev. Fr. Vimal Andrew SDB, Rector abd Principal delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the distinguished guests, faculty, and students, while underlining Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s enduring commitment to forming skilled, value-driven youth and Following tradition, the dignitaries jointly lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the auspicious beginning of the academic year.
Mr. Sathish formally introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. H.L. Mallesh Gowda. In his keynote address, Dr. Gowda stressed the growing importance of hands-on vocational skills in an evolving job market, urging students to embody Don Bosco’s vision of becoming “Good Human Beings & Honest Citizens.” He Appreciated and thanked Christian missionaries and mentioned the valuable
Contributions of missionaries to Kannada langauge. He said that
Skill has respect and the world will come in search of the skilled.
He also quoted Girish karnad of his
choices in life and that once choice is made one should not bother about the options available. Following his address, the institute felicitated Dr. Gowda for his contributions to education and community development.
The gathering was then addressed by the Guest of Honour, Sr. Vinisha Lobo, who encouraged students to persevere, embrace continuous learning, and utilize technical education for meaningful nation-building saying,

BOSCH LEAP Programme & Student Recognition
A central highlight of the event was the launch of the BOSCH LEAP Programme, aimed at bridging the gap between industry requirements and technical education through advanced practical training.
Programme Overview: Fr. Andrew introduced the objectives and collaborative scope of the initiative.
Official Inauguration: Mr. Pradeep (BIF) officially inaugurated the BOSCH LEAP Programme, emphasizing industry readiness, updated curricula, and enhanced employability for ITI graduates.
Kit Distribution: Specialized training kits were distributed to enrolled students to equip them with the necessary tools for hands-on learning.

In his concluding message, Fr. C.L.
