Don Bosco Vidyakshethra Celebrates 25 Years of Salesian Mission with Grand Silver Jubilee Annual Day and Joyful Christmas Festivities

The community of Don Bosco Vidyakshethra, Prakashpalya was exceedingly overwhelmed in joy in celebrating the recently concluded two events – 25th Silver Jubilee Annual day 2025 and the Christmas celebration. The 25th Silver Jubilee Annual Day and Christmas Celebration marked a historic and remarkable milestone in the journey of the Salesian presence in the pastoral care and educational excellence and the communal spirit. These events commenced and brought to its fruition with the help of the Almighty and by the noteworthy endeavours of the community, the entire Salesian family – the Salesian Fathers and Sisters, the management, the staff, and students.
First of all, the 25th Silver Jubilee Annual Day celebration was at the heart of the Salesian family, as it embraces the core gospel values such as the Salesian spirit of charity, joy and family spirit. Thus, it is enabling the young to be honest citizens and good children of God. With the theme – Kanasu Nannasu (a Dream come true), the event commenced at the dusk of 22nd December 2025 at 4:30 p.m. at Don Bosco School Campus Ground. The event had affirmed the commitment of the Salesian family to inclusive learning, character development, and service to the society at large. The event organised the esteemed chief guests –Smt. B.T. Kavitha IPS, the respected Superintendent of Police of Chamarajanagar, Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal SDB, the Provincial of the Salesian Province, Bangalore, the star guest – Sri. Arun Kumar M. Mamballi, playback singer, Member of the Karnataka Govt., the guests of honour – Rev. Fr. Shalbin Kalancheri SDB, the Vice-provincial of the Salesian Province, Bangalore, Sri. Chandra Patil and Smt. Puttagawramma, the D.D.P.U of Chamarajanagar, Smt. Manjula, B.E.O of Kollegal, Smt. Geetha Mariswamy, the Panchayat President, Chikkalur, Rev. Fr. Rayappa, the Dean, Parish Priest of Kollegal, Rev. Fr. John Victor CM, Parish Priest, Mariyapura, and other office-bearers and Religious Superiors, along with the Rev. Fr. Lawrence SDB the Managing Director of Don Bosco Vidyakshethra, Rev. Fr. Sebastian SDB, the Principal of Don Bosco School, Rev. Frs. John Paul SDB and Cyril Sahayaraj SDB the Parish priest, Prakashpalya and administrator of Don Bosco Vidyakshethra, Sri. K. Mahadev and Sri. Nagendra, the Principal and Vice-principal of the PU College.
The event was marked with programs blending traditional festive observances, enriching and encouraging insights shared by the dignitaries with a retrospective of 25 years of milestones. At the heart of the event was the Skit entitled as – Kanasu Nannasu (a Dream come true) was dramatically enacted by the students under the watchful guidance of the management and staffs in honour of the great Missionary of this mission – Fr. Magimai Raj SDB. The event was flooded with appreciation by the dignitaries and in their addresses, they reiterated and reaffirmed the indelible mark of the Salesian mission and legacy in the region of Prakashpalya. Thus, the event was brought to a fine conclusion with some exuberant performances by the guests.
Secondly, the Christmas celebration with the students was another magnificent event of the month. The event had a collection of performances, activities, cultural events, enactment, music and movements. The Christmas Celebration of the students embarked the journey of happiness, communal spirit, fostering joy, unity, and spiritual reflection among the students, the participants including the students from grades I to XII, faculty, and Religious communities. The entire event was a great celebration of the talents of the students who graced the stage with their multiple performances, finally, the event ended with sharing gifts, greetings and gratitude to the All-powerful God.
