Don Bosco Youth Centre Kochi (Palluruthy) Inaugurated: A New Beacon of Hope for Kochi’s Youth

The Don Bosco Youth Centre, Palluruthy, Kochi was officially inaugurated by Mr. V. A. Sreejith, the Standing Committee Chairman of the Kochi Municipal Corporation at 6 PM on 18th of August, 2024.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Sreejith emphasized the critical role of youth centers play in fostering the development of young people, offering them guidance, and helping them build a strong foundation for their futures. “The establishment of this Youth Centre is a testament to the commitment of Don Bosco institutions towards the holistic growth of our youth,” he said, applauding the efforts of the Sneha Bhavan team.
The event was graced by Fr. P. D. Thomas, the Executive Director of Don Bosco Sneha Bhavan, who spoke about the vision and long-term goals of the Youth Centre. Fr. Abhilash, the Youth Centre Director, Fr. Bino Nadkkal, the Director of Sneha Bhavan Annexe, Fr. Rony Sebastian, the administrator and Br. Issac, the Assistant Director DBYC, were present for the function.
The inauguration also served as Membership Day, with nearly 82 young members officially registering to be part of the Youth Centre. These members will benefit from various programs aimed at their personal and social development, including educational support, vocational training, and recreational activities.
The Don Bosco Youth Centre is expected to become a beacon of hope for the youth in Kochi, providing them with opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute positively to society. The enthusiasm of the newly registered members and the support of the local community blend well for the future success of this initiative.
The event was enriched by the colourful cultural programmes presented by the youth Centre members.
