Don Bosco Youth Centre Mysore Hosts Energetic and Inspiring Sports Day 2025

The Don Bosco Mysore Youth Centre organized its annual Sports Day on Sunday, 30 November, beginning promptly at 8:00 AM. The event brought together youth from the centre in a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, fun, friendship, and brotherly affection. The day’s programme was officially inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Freddie, the Rector of the community. In his opening words, he encouraged the young people to cultivate discipline, teamwork, and joy through sports. His motivating message set a positive tone for the day’s activities.The Sports Day featured a well-planned lineup of competitions, consisting of:

8 individual events, including track and field items that drew enthusiastic participation.

2 group events, which highlighted teamwork, cooperation, and strategic play.

All members of the youth centre took active part in the events, making the day inclusive and lively. The atmosphere throughout the day was filled with energy and excitement. The spirit of friendly competition, mutual encouragement, and Salesian values was visible among all participants. The youth showcased excellent discipline and sportsmanship, reflecting the true spirit of Don Bosco. The winners of the various events were honoured during the valedictory ceremony. Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal, Provincial of the Bangalore Province, graced the occasion and awarded mementos to the champions. In his message to the youth, he encouraged them saying: “Let games become a channel of change and growth in your life.” His words inspired the youngsters to look at sports not merely as recreation, but as a means to build character, responsibility, and personal development. The Sports Day 2025 at Don Bosco Mysore Youth Centre was a memorable and impactful event. It strengthened bonds of friendship among the youth and promoted a healthy spirit of participation.
