“Donate Blood Save Life”: Don Bosco College Mampetta NSS Unit
“Every drop counts: Together, we can save lives!”
Don Bosco College Mampetta held a blood donation camp with the aim of encouraging voluntary blood donations and raising awareness of its importance. The event was organized by the NSS unit of the College in association with MVR Cancer Centre & Research Institution and Don Bosco I T I Mampetta.
The blood donation camp commenced at 9.30 in the morning. The College seminar hall was set up with registration desks, medical examination stations, and donation beds. Trained medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and technicians, were present to facilitate the donation process and ensure donor safety.
Donors underwent a thorough screening process, including medical history review, physical examination, and haemoglobin level checks, to ensure eligibility for blood donation. Those deemed eligible proceeded to the donation area, where their blood was collected using sterile techniques and necessary precautions. After donation, donors were provided with refreshments and observed for a brief period to ensure their well-being. Proper disposal of medical waste and adherence to infection control protocols were strictly followed.
The blood donation camp was aimed to collect an adequate and safe supply of blood for medical emergencies and patients in need. It served as an opportunity to educate the community about the importance of regular blood donation and its potential life-saving impact. The event successfully mobilized the community to actively participate in a noble cause, fostering a sense of social responsibility and solidarity.
