DREAM Kottayam organizes Leadership Training for School Children
The Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring (DREAM), a project of BREADS, implemented by Don Bosco Schools, Puthuppally, Kottayam, organised a two-day residential leadership training programme for school students in collaboration with VIMUKTHI Mission Kottayam on September 5 & 6, 2022 at Chaitanya Pastoral Centre, Thellakom. The training programme benefitted 40 students from different schools in the Kottayam district.
The children were trained on leadership skills and were made aware of substance abuse, its personal and social consequences. The trained student leaders will become “ambassadors” in the selected schools to take leadership and initiate actions for the prevention of substance abuse in the schools.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr Sojan Sebastian (Assistant Commissioner, Kottayam) and presided over by Fr. Devassy Chirakal SDB (Rector, Don Bosco Puthuppally, Kottayam). The keynote address was given by Mr Benny Sebastian (Officer, Vimukthi Mission, Kottayam). Fr. Josh Kanjooparambil SDB ( Director, DREAM Kottayam & Principal Don Bosco CBSE School) felicitated the gathering. The inaugural ceremony was followed by icebreaking sessions and classes on leadership skills.
