FCDP Distributes Gifts of Love on International Day of Older Persons

Kollam, October 1: On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons, the Fishermen Community Development Programme (FCDP) distributed love notes and food packets to more than a hundred elderly people living alone in the coastal areas of Kollam.

The special activity was organised to share love and care for the elderly and to give them small moments of joy. By giving them food packets and love notes, the aim was to give the elderly confidence that they are not alone, along with a sense of being cared for.

FCDP Director Fr. Saji Elampasseril SDB and Coordinator Mrs. Mini Mary together distributed the first food packets. The programme was conducted under the leadership of the internship students.

The initiative served as a reminder that even small acts of care can bring great joy and comfort to elderly people facing loneliness and various difficulties. It also carried a strong message that love and consideration for the elderly should not be limited to one special day, but should become a continuous responsibility of society.
