Gandhi Jayanti Commemoration at Don Bosco ITI, KGF
On October 2, 2025, Gandhi Jayanti was meaningfully commemorated by the confreres and hostel boys of Don Bosco ITI, KGF through a service visit to the Old Age Home at Merlini Farms, run by the Precious Blood Fathers at KGF.
The group reached the old age home at 9.45 a.m. and immediately began their work of service. Using grass-cutting machines, they cleared the weeds, trimmed the edges, and cleaned the kitchen outlet canal. The boys also lovingly assisted the elderly residents by trimming their nails, reflecting the spirit of care and respect.
Following the morning work, Fr. Ruben and Fr. Lawrence, CPPS, graciously hosted the team with a sumptuous lunch. After lunch, the group enjoyed a refreshing swim in the tank before proceeding to entertain the elderly with a lively dance and song performance in their honour.
Fr. Rector expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Precious Blood community for the opportunity to serve the elderly in such a tangible way. He emphasized that the celebration truly embodied the values of Mahatma Gandhi—service, truth, and cleanliness.
The team returned to the community by 6.30 p.m., enriched by the experience of celebrating Gandhi Jayanti in a spirit of selfless service and joyful fraternity.
