GOTHRAKIRANAM 2.0 Concludes: 100 Tribal Youth Complete Intensive 6-Month PSC Coaching in Wayanad
The second edition of GOTHRAKIRANAM, an empowering PSC coaching program for tribal youth, successfully wrapped up on 9th May, 2026 after six months of intensive training. Organized by SIGHT Wayanad in collaboration with the District Excise Department, Wayanad, the program equipped around 100 participants from marginalized tribal communities with skills to crack Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) exams, fostering self-reliance and career opportunities.
Hosted at Don Bosco Tech, Sulthan Bathery, the concluding ceremony saw the distribution of rank books to all, marking a milestone in community upliftment. Fr. Jenson Variyath, Director of SIGHT Wayanad, handed over the rank books, emphasizing the program’s role in bridging educational gaps for tribal youth.”This is just the beginning—empowered youth will light up Wayanad’s future,” he said.
The event was graced by dignitaries including Fr. Antony Thekkedath, Rector and Manager of Don Bosco Institutions; Mr. Sajith Chandran, Excise Commissioner, Wayanad; Mr. Ashok Kumar, Circle Inspector, Excise Janamythri, Mananthavady; and Fr. Saju Antony, Treasurer of SIGHT Wayanad. Their presence underscored the joint commitment to youth empowerment in Wayanad’s tribal belts.
