Harmony Hour: Don Bosco Youth Centre Spreads Love and Music On World Music Day
Don Bosco Youth Centre Ollukkara, in collaboration with Salesian Cooperators and Don Bosco
College NSS unit – 388, orchestrated a heartwarming event called “Harmony Hour” on the
occasion of World Music Day. The event aimed to spread love and happiness among the children
from Snehadeepthy Special School, a school run by the Samaritan Sisters.
Fr. Robin Mathew SDB, Director of Don Bosco Youth Centre, delivered a warm welcome speech,
expressing his delight in bringing together the children and volunteers for this special occasion.
He emphasized the power of music in fostering unity and creating positive experiences. Rev. Fr.
Cyril Edamana SDB, Rector & Manager, delivered a poignant presidential address, underscoring
the significance of World Music Day in promoting cultural exchange and understanding. He
highlighted the transformative impact of music on the lives of children, especially those from
Snehadeepthy Special School.
During the event, Mr. Devassy Kokkan, Coordinator of Salesian Cooperators, extended his
heartfelt felicitation, recognizing the collaborative efforts of the organizers in making Harmony
Hour a reality. His words of appreciation resonated with the audience, acknowledging the
dedication and compassion of all involved.
The highlight of the evening was the mesmerizing performance by Mr. Harish Soman, a renowned
flautist and pianist from the Thrissur district. Mr. Soman dedicated his musical talent to the
children, creating a captivating ambiance and filling the air with melodious tunes that touched the
hearts of everyone present.
The cultural program, presented by the families of the youth centre members and NSS volunteers,
showcased a vibrant celebration of music. The children from Snehadeepthy Special School
actively participated, immersing themselves in the festivities and experiencing the joy and rhythm
of music.
Under the leadership of Mr. Nithin K.P., President of Don Bosco Youth Centre, the youth and NSS
volunteers organized party games and engaging activities for the children. Laughter and happiness
filled the air as the children and volunteers bonded over shared experiences and the universal
language of music.
Harmony Hour served as a testament to the spirit of unity and compassion. The collaboration
between Don Bosco Youth Centre, Salesian Cooperators, Don Bosco College NSS unit – 388, and
the support of the Samaritan Sisters showcased the collective efforts in creating an unforgettable
experience for the children from Snehadeepthy Special School.
