Inauguration of NECDBS 2022 at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School Vaduthala
The Sixth Biennial Conference of Don Bosco Schools in India is an Educational Conference aimed at promoting quality education, exploring modern horizons in pedagogical methods and refocusing our school education system on the preventive system proposed by our Father and Founder St. John Bosco. This year, the conference focused its discussion on the theme: ENHANCING CHILD CENTERED, PARTICIPATORY AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING SPACES. The conference involved three days of pedagogical sessions, panel discussions, reflections and deliberations aimed at achieving this goal.
The delegates from various provinces began coming in on 16 November 2022 and they were all received with warmth and affection at the registration desk situated at the Don Bosco L P School, Vaduthala. The participants were then taken to their respective hotels of accommodation. Around 5 pm the participants were brought back to the venue of the conference and were served tea at the GM Hall. The delegates were received in procession to the hall to the tune of the Singarimelam and the vibe of the Kerala forms of art and culture. It was a resplendent blending of culture, communion and joy. The colourful ceremony was inaugurated by Shri Manish Tewari, MP, Ananadpur Sahib at 06:00 PM. Honourable Justice Sophy Thomas delivered the keynote address. The Inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr. Clive Telles, Salesian Provincial of the province of Goa. Rev. Fr. Biju Michael SDB (Salesian General Councillor for South Asian Region) and Rev. Fr. Garcia Miguel Angel SDB (Salesian General Councillor of Youth Pastoral) felicitated the gathering. Rev. Fr. Shalbin Kalancherry, the Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Bangalore welcomed the gathering and Rev. Fr. Joy Nedumprambil, the Economer of the Salesian Province of Bangalore honoured the guests. Rev. Fr. Babu Manisserry, General Convenor, Sixth NECDBS proposed the vote of thanks and gave an overview of the following days of the conference. Mr. Manish Tewari in his inaugural address invited all the delegates present to play a vanguard role in promoting critical thinking, and the ability to pause and reflect. Honorable Justice Smt Sophy Thomas exhorted the participants to enable our students to identify the wonder within them and to help them to dream and fly high. In his edifying presidential address Fr. Clive Telles exhorted the delegates of the conference to lead the young minds of our institutions out from their comfort zones, away from their fear zones to the zones of growth and learning. Rev. Fr. Shibu Davis, the Rector, Don Bosco Vaduthala and Rev. Fr. Robert Simon felicitated the gathering. The assembly was fortunate listen to the benedictory addresses from Rev. Fr. Biju Michael, Regional Councillor South Asia and Rev. Fr .Garcia Miguel Angel, General Councillor for Youth Pastoral.
