Inauguration of the Academic Year, Past Pupils Gathering and Felicitation at Don Bosco Bhadravati
Don Bosco ITI, Bhadravathi, organised the Inauguration of the Academic Year 2026–2027, Past Pupils Gathering and Felicitation Programme on 26 August 2026. The programme brought together students, staff, past pupils, well-wishers and representatives of the local community.
The institution has witnessed an encouraging response to admissions for the formal training programmes during the present academic year. The Electrician trade has reached full strength, indicating the continued demand for technical and skill-based education provided by the institution.
The programme was graced by Fr. Prakash, CAP; Sr. Wilma, Superior of Nirmala Convent; Fr. Paul Crasta; and Mr. Basavaraj, Councillor, Paper Town. Their presence added significance to the occasion and encouraged the students and the institution in its mission of skill development and youth formation.
Fr. Nilagal Christhu Raj SDB, Rector and Principal of Don Bosco ITI, Bhadravathi, welcomed the dignitaries, staff, students and past pupils. He also animated the programme and highlighted the importance of beginning the new academic year with renewed commitment to education, discipline, skill development and the holistic growth of young people.
Felicitation of Mr. George
A special part of the programme was the felicitation of Mr. George in recognition of his 16 years of dedicated service to Don Bosco ITI, Bhadravathi. The institution expressed its gratitude and appreciation for his commitment and valuable contribution to the development and functioning of the institution over the years.
Inauguration of the Past Pupils Unit
The Past Pupils Unit of Don Bosco ITI, Bhadravathi, was formally inaugurated during the programme. The initiative is intended to strengthen the bond between the institution and its former students and to encourage their continued involvement in the growth and development of the institution.
The office bearers of the Past Pupils Unit were elected during the gathering. The formation of the unit is expected to provide a platform for greater interaction, cooperation and collective initiatives among the past pupils and the institution.
Seminar on De-addiction and Healthy Living
An important component of the programme was a seminar conducted by Fr. Prakash, Director of Asha Kiran De-addiction Centre. He addressed the participants on the harmful effects of addiction and the importance of prevention, awareness and responsible choices.
Fr. Prakash also counselled the students and participants on how to lead a healthier and more meaningful life. His session focused on developing positive habits, self-discipline, making responsible decisions and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The session was informative, practical and relevant to the young people present.
The programme was a significant occasion for Don Bosco ITI, Bhadravathi, as it combined the inauguration of the new academic year with the formation of the Past Pupils Unit and the recognition of dedicated service.
The encouraging admission response, particularly the full strength in the Electrician trade, is a positive indication of the continued relevance of technical education and skill training.
