Jubilee Celebration of Rev. Fr George Ukkran at our lady of sorrows basilica Thrissur
The family members of Fr. George Ukkran organised a day of thanksgiving and prayers to celebrate the diamond jubilee of his first profession (1961-2021) and the golden jubilee of his priesthood (1970-2020) at our Lady of Sorrows Basilica Trichur on Saturday, 28 August 2021. The solemn Eucharistic celebration began at 11:50 AM presided over by Fr Ukkran and was concelebrated by about 60 priests along with his dear ones keeping the Covid 19 protocol intact. Inspiring presence of Mar Andrews Thazhath, Arch Bishop of Thrissur and Mar Tony Neelankavil, Auxiliary Bishop of Thrissur added joy to the celebration. Rev Fr. Jose Koyickal, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Bangalore, Joyce Thonikuzhiyil, former Provincial, Davis Maniparamban, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Delhi, Fr. Noby Ambooken, Vicar, Basalica Church, Fr. Shibu Davis, Rector, Don Bosco Vaduthala, Mr George Benjamin, Rtd. Secretary Govt. of Kerala and Mr. Davis Koola, Salesian Co-operator felicitated Fr Ukkran. Professor UV Antony proposed the vote of thanks and invited all to the sumptuous agape which followed.
