Labour Department, Yadgir honours Fr. Shabu Francis for efforts towards child empowerment in the district

As part of the World Day Against Child Labour celebrations on June 12, 2025, Fr. Francis Shabu SDB, Director of DBCSA Yadgiri, was honoured with a special award by the Labour Department of Yadgiri district, Government of Karnataka.
The award was presented by Mr. Mariyappa, Respected Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA); Mr. Hari Deshpande, Labour Officer, Yadgiri; Mr. Raveendra, Deputy Director, Agriculture Department, Yadgiri; Mr. Hiranna Gowda, Deputy Director, Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD); and Mrs. Nirmala Surpurkar, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Yadgiri.
Don Bosco Centre for Social Action took active participation in the rally organised in collaboration with various government departments. Over 1400 people participated in this vibrant rally to mark the day, spreading a strong message against child labour and promoting child rights, particularly the Right to Education.
