Lay Collaborators Meeting of Kerala Region held at Don Bosco Vaduthala
The Salesian Province of Bangalore organized the Lay Collaborators Meet 2024 for the Kerala region at Don Bosco Vaduthala on 5th and 6th of October,2024. This significant event took place with the active participation of 39 attendees, all coming from various parts of Kerala.
The event was led by Fr. Shalbin Kalenchery SDB, who served as the main coordinator.
The event began with a Welcome address by Fr. Parappilly Shibu SDB (Rector), setting the tone for the meet.
Fr. Gilbert Choondal SDB gave an insightful presentation on the Preventive System of Don Bosco, a cornerstone of Salesian pedagogy that promotes the holistic development of young people through reason, religion, and loving-kindness.
A vibrant Family Get Together was organized by the Brothers of Don Bosco Vaduthala, fostering a sense of unity and fraternity among the participants.
The participants went on an excursion, with a boating trip at Marine Drive, Kochi, offering a fun and relaxing environment for networking and bonding.
Fr. Joyce Thonikuzhiyil SDB led the second session, focusing on the Dreams of Don Bosco. His presentation provided deep insights into Don Bosco’s visions and how they continue to inspire Salesian work today.
The meet formally ended with lunch at 12:30 pm on 6th of October, 2024, followed by the departure of the participants, with everyone leaving inspired to further the vision of Don Bosco.
