Membership Day Celebration at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Ollukkara

The Don Bosco Youth Centre, Ollukkara, celebrated its Membership Day on 17th August 2024. The event was attended by esteemed guests, centre members, and well-wishers.
Fr. Jimmy Ponnath, the Director of the Youth Centre, warmly welcomed everyone. Fr. Joyce Thonnikuzhiyil SDB, former Provincial of the Salesian Province of Bangalore inaugurated the event and in his inaugural address he stressed the need of youngsters striving to be instruments of peace in a troubled world. Fr. Cyril Edamana SDB, the Rector of Don Bosco Ollukkara, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the vision of Don Bosco had for youth. The chief guest, Mr. Sivadasan P.V., retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP), delivered a thought-provoking address, inspiring the youth to strive for excellence and contribute to the betterment of society. Mr. Sijo VD, presented the report of the past year activities.

A significant highlight of the evening was the election of new office bearers for the centre. The results were as follows:

• President: Mr. Sajan
• Secretary: Mr. Tomy Jose

The newly elected office bearers were congratulated by the gathering, and wished the all the succes in the year ahead.
