New Beginnings: Membership Day at Don Bosco Youth Center, Horamavu

Horamavu, Bengaluru | 20 September 2026 — A new chapter in youth engagement began at Don Bosco Youth Center, Horamavu, with the celebration of its first-ever Membership Day on Sunday, 20 September 2026. The special gathering brought together 17 young people from the locality, marking the official beginning of their journey as members of the youth centre.

The programme was guided by Fr. Benny, Director, and Br. Jesbin, Assistant Director, who welcomed the young members and introduced them to the vision, values, rules, and guidelines of the centre. The members were encouraged to understand their responsibilities and actively participate in the activities and initiatives of the youth community.

The youth centre seeks to bring together young people from the surrounding neighbourhood under the spirit and care of Don Bosco, providing them with opportunities to grow in character, develop their talents, build meaningful relationships, and become responsible and compassionate citizens.

As part of the gathering, an annual activity planner was also presented for the year ahead. The plan includes a variety of recreational and educational activities, along with regular social outreach initiatives aimed at supporting and serving people in the surrounding community.

The first Membership Day thus marked more than the formal beginning of a youth group. It was the start of a shared journey of friendship, growth, service, and community, inspired by the spirit of Don Bosco and his commitment to young people.
