New Priests’ Day at DBA
The community of Don Bosco Seminary, Aluva, celebrated the new priests’ day on 14th January, 2022. The newly anointed ministers of Christ who were present for the celebration were, Frs. Fidel Thachil, Jilson Erikattu, Karakkattu Mathew, Madappallil Jins, Parattukudy Sebastian, Mithun John D’Souza, Jose Alunkal, Kochuparambil Abhilash, and Nijo John Emmatty (INC).
The celebrations had a typical Salesian flavour. The celebrations commenced with a volleyball match in the evening.“Holy Priests,” the team of new priests and the staff of DBA took the game by winning the first two sets.“HolyBrothers,” the team of philosophy students gave a good fight and took the last set of the game.
At 6.00 pm the Holy Eucharist began with Fr. Mithun John as the main celebrant. The sermon was preached by Fr. Sebastian. Soon after the Holy Mass, Fr. Fidel shared his vocation story. It was followed by a felicitation program. During the program the newly ordained ministers of God shared their vocation stories and explained their ordination mottos. Bro. Neeliyara Joseph presented gifts to the new priests as a token of appreciation on behalf of the community. Cl. Agnel Antony presented the address for the newly ordained. The program was made colourful also by cutting the cake and by cultural performances of the brothers. The celebration came to its culmination with a sumptuous meal.
