“Onakkoot 2K25”

28th August 2025 witnessed a special Onam celebration, Onakkoot 2K25, was organized today at Don Bosco College, Sulthan Bathery, exclusively for the child care institutions of Wayanad district. The program was conducted by the SIGHT Wayanad (NGO) in collaboration with the District Administration Wayanad, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Wayanad, Indel Money Limited, and Don Bosco College.

The festive gathering witnessed the participation of around 400 inmates from various care homes, accompanied by their staff and volunteers, bringing the total strength to nearly 500 participants including students.

The event was graced by eminent guests of honour including Ms. Meghashree D R IAS (District Collector, Wayanad), Ms. Devaky K (ADM), Ms. Archana P P IAS (Assistant Collector), Dr. Shajan Noronha SDB (Principal, Don Bosco College), Adv. Thanu Jagatheesh (CWC Member), Ms. Karthika Anna Thomas (District Child Protection Officer), and Mr. Umesh Mohanan (ED & CEO, Indel Money).

The celebration featured traditional Onam cultural programs, games, and interactive sessions, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness. The initiative reflected a strong commitment towards the well-being, inclusion, and happiness of children under institutional care in Wayanad.
