One-Day Entrepreneurship Training for the representatives of Self-Help Groups at Chitra Don Bosco, Chitradurga
On July 20, 2024, a one-day training program on entrepreneurship was organized for representatives of Self Help Societies (SHGs) at the Chitra Don Bosco Institute. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Benny (Principal of Don Bosco Degree College). Dc. Anthonyraj, Director of CHITHRA Don Bosco, who delivered an inspiring introductory speech. He emphasized the importance of empowering women in the family for development of society at large. He encouraged the women of self-help groups to initiate small enterprises, thereby contributing to the economic development of their families and ensuring a better future for their children.
Mrs. Padma from D.S Halli village shared her daring success story. She recounted her journey from being a kitchen helper in a government school to becoming a successful entrepreneur. Despite facing financial constraints and being unable to secure a bank loan, she persevered by taking a small loan and starting her own business. She emphasized that success is achievable through hard work and single-minded determination.
Ms. Manjushree, a cluster resource person from the Nagarasabhe, highlighted the availability of government and bank subsidies for well-performing women’s self-help associations. She urged the participants to utilize these opportunities for economic growth through micro-enterprises and small businesses.
Mrs. Mamatha from Mukta okkuta, Chithra Don Bosco staff, B.S.W. students, and 100 women actively participated in the program.
