Remembering Fr. Josin Thazhathette, SDB: A Life Celebrated in Faith and Joy
The funeral service of Fr. Josin Thazhathette SDB was solemnly held at 10:30 a.m. today at Don Bosco Bhavan Mannuthy. The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jose Thomas Koyickal, the Provincial of the Salesian Province of Bangalore, amidst a gathering of mourners and well-wishers.
Fr. Josin Thazhathette SDB, born on November 16, 1954, lived a life marked by resolute faith and a profound sense of joy. His contagious happiness touched the lives of all who knew him, making him a beloved figure in his community and beyond. Known for his innocence and fearlessness, Fr. Josin approached every challenge with a resilient spirit and firm trust in God. Even in the face of illness, he maintained his cheerful demeanor, inspiring those around him with his positivity and grace.
During the service, Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal shared poignant memories of Fr. Josin, recalling how he welcomed visitors with a smile during his illness, reassuring them, “I’m okay, your prayers are enough.” Fr. Josin was known as a man of affection who deeply loved others and was always ready to help.
Fr. Emmanuel Vattakunnel reflected on Fr. Josin’s remarkable 50 years of service, including 40 years as a priest, describing his life as one filled with glory and dedicated service, an inspiration to all who knew him.
Speaking on behalf of Fr. Josin’s family, Fr. Jose expressed gratitude to all who came to pay their respects, acknowledging the outpouring of love and support.
Fr. Josin Thazhathette SDB peacefully departed from this world on July 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and joy.
