Renewal of Vows at Don Bosco Seminary, Aluva
The Don Bosco Seminary community, Aluva witnessed a moment of grace and commitment
as 24 temporarily professed Salesians renewed their religious vows in a solemn and prayerful
ceremony. The Holy Eucharist, which marked the heart of the celebration, was presided over
by Fr. Joy Kaippananickal SDB, the Rector of the house. In his homily, Fr. Joy reflected on
the beauty of the Salesian vocation and encouraged the brothers to remain faithful and joyful
in their consecrated journey.
The liturgy was deeply meaningful, with well-prepared hymns, thoughtful readings, and
moments of silent prayer that invited all to a deeper experience of God’s call. The renewal of
vows is not merely a ritual, but a heartfelt recommitment to live the evangelical counsels of
poverty, chastity, and obedience in the spirit of Don Bosco.
The celebration concluded with a fraternal gathering, where the community expressed their
joy and support for the temporarily professed brothers. It was a day of gratitude, renewal, and
renewed zeal for the mission among the young, especially the poor and abandoned, in the
footsteps of St. John Bosco.
