Seminar on ‘Scripture Today at KJC, Day-1

The College Seminar on the theme “SCRIPTRURE TODAY – Reading and Rediscovering” is being organised at Kristu Jyoti College on 27th and 28th September 2021. The Day One of the Seminar was well attended by the superiors of the neighbouring communities, students of MTh, Diploma, Theology and Philosophy. The Seminar began with a prayer dance invoking God’s Blessings. Rev. Fr. Shabu Thottumkal, Principal welcomed the dignitaries and all the participants for the seminar. Fr. Jose Koyickal SDB, Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province, Bengaluru inaugurated the Seminar followed by a briefing on the dynamics of the Seminar by Fr. Joe Previnth.
The keynote address on “Reading and Rediscovering the Word of God” was rendered online by Rev. Dr. Augustine Mulloor OCD. It was followed by the first session of the day on ‘Scripture and Homiletics’ delivered by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Sebastinappan Singaroyan DD, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Salem. KJC publication brought colour to the occasion with the release of 14 books on different disciplines. The second session on ‘Biblical Foundations for Josephology’ was handled by Rev. Fr. Joseph Titus from the diocese of Pondicherry-Kadalur. The afternoon was made experiential and entertaining with a special session on Evangelization through Creative Art Forms, Dance and Mimicry by Rev. Fr. Irudayaraj CMF. The Last Session of the day was on ‘The Art of Praying the Bible’, presented by Rev. Dr. Mario Mendes from the Archdiocese of Bombay. All the sessions were well prepared to the appreciation of all present.
