The prestigious CISCE Basketball tournament organized in a truly splendid way by Don Bosco Central School Mannuthy

CISCE Kerala Regional (2024 – 25) Basketball Tournament was inaugurated at Don Bosco Central School in Mannuthy on 5th August 2024. School Principal Fr. Shino Kalapurackal welcomed everyone. Rev. Fr. Thomas Koonan, Rector and Manager of the school, inaugurated the event. Vice Principal Fr. Jithin Chakkimangalath proposed the vote of thanks. CISCE Kerala Regional Sports Coordinator Mr. Shaju MP, PTA President Mr. Anto Chirammal, School Coordinator Ms. Renu Thomas, Sports Teachers Mr. Jain Roy, Mrs. Jincy, Sports Captain Sreesanth M and were present. CISCE Kerala Regional Sports Observer Mr. Satish Pillay congratulated the contestants. The exciting matches were held on 5th and 6th of August. The tournament was conducted as per the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) rules. Kerala Basketball Selection Committee Member and Thrissur Basketball Association Secretary P. C. Antony Sir along with the team members managed the crucial matches.The schools were divided into six zones A, B, C, D, E and F. The boys and girls matches were played under 3 categories U-14, U-17 and U-19. There were a total of 46 matches including 12 semi finals and 6 final matches.

The closing ceremony was held on 6th August, at 7 pm. The vice-rector of the school, Rev. Fr. Joyce Thonikoazhiyil presided over the function. Vice Principal Fr. Jithin Chakkimangalath welcomed everyone. School Principal Rev. Fr. Shino Kalapurackal addressed the gathering. Fr. K.D. Joseph, CISCE Kerala Regional Sports Coordinator Mr. Shaju MP, Mr. PC Anthony, Member of Kerala Basketball Selection Committee and Association Chairman, Sports teachers of various schools were also present. CISCE Kerala Regional Sports Observer Mr. Satish Pillay felicitated the function. The winning zones were awarded with medals and trophies at the function. The winners of the competition will qualify for the national championship.
