Don Bosco, Ajjanahalli RESPONDS to Youth – Yuva Spandana
29 June 30, 2023. The Inauguration of Don Bosco – Yuva Spandana opened the door to a million dreams of & for youth. Don Bosco ministering to and for the youth presently, hoped to make it by the youth initiative for the youth in the future. This venture of the Sacred Heart Province of Bengaluru was officially inaugurated by Fr. Jose Thomas Koyickal, Provincial, in the presence of Fr. Shalbin, Vice-provincial, Fr. Joy, Economer and Fr. P S George, Exe. Director of BREADS, Fr. Santhosh Fernandes, Parish Priest, St. Antony’s Church, the community members of Don Bosco, Ajjanahalli and most importantly the 55 youth on 29th June 2023. The first Inaugural Programme – The Transformative Leadership Training Programme also commenced with 55 Degree Students as its participants from St. Joseph’s Degree College, Hunasuru, Mysuru as the first beneficiaries of a 4 day residential programme.
The inaugural function saw a high toned youthful enthusiasm with prayer dance, messages, patriotic dances & folk songs. Fr. Provincial expressed his blessings and wished well the community for braving through the initiative in spite of a lot of challenges on the ground. Speaking to the youth he said, life comes with challenges for our dreams, we need to get out, get transformed to the next level to face the world and its realities as he cited the example of Beethoven, who kept determined in spite of becoming blind and deaf. He appreciated the determination to rise to the standard of urban colleges by the participants who hailed from a semi-urban and rural background.
