Young priests meet in Don Bosco Provincial house
Bangalore: The young priests of the quinquennium period gathered in Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore for three days of animation programme as customary every year.
During the opening conference by Fr. Jose Koyickal SDB, Provincial, spoke on the theme ‘Priesthood – A Gift and A Task’. He tried to drive home the theme, quoting Benedict XVI, Pope Emeritus; “The Priest must be a believer, one who converses with God. If not, all his activities will be futile.” He also reminded that ‘Don Bosco was a gem among priest’ inviting all to strive to be so.
Child Protection Policy of the Province by Fr. Joy Nedumparambil SDB and Ms. Cheryl, Saleisian Cognitive Behavioural Education: A Tool for Spiritual Accompaniment of Youth by Fr. Binu Scaria SDB, Evangelical Counsels by Fr. Xavier Manavath CMF, Cross and Sacrifices: Challenges of the Priesthood by Fr. David Yesuraj CSsR, and Pastoral Counselling Techniques by Fr. Joe Kokkandathil SDB were the topics stretched out in three days.
The animation programme attended by 45 young priests of the Province from 22nd to 24th of October 2021 was systematically and meticulously planned and arranged by Fr. Shalbin Kalanchery, the Vice Provincial of INK. Fr. Sebastian, the Rector of DBPH and Fr. Joy Nedumparambil, the Economer welcomed all during the inauguration making everyone feel at home.
