Don Bosco Mithra School Celebrates Environment Day with Awareness, Creativity, and Green Action

Today, Don Bosco Mithra School, came together to celebrate Environment Day with great enthusiasm, creativity, and a strong message of love and responsibility towards our planet. The celebration was a beautiful reminder that protecting nature is not just a duty but a promise we make for a better tomorrow.  The program was thoughtfully planned in two parts, bringing together awareness, inspiration, and artistic expressions by our students.

Part 1: Inauguration and Awareness Programme

The celebration began with a warm welcome to our respected Principal, Rev. Fr. Lawrence, Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Benny, and our honoured Chief Guest, Ms. Geena Anoop, teachers, and dear students.  The program started with a prayer song, seeking blessings and guidance as we gathered to celebrate the beauty of nature. This was followed by the Environment Day Oath, where students pledged to protect the environment, conserve resources, and take small but meaningful steps towards creating a greener future.

The dignitaries then unveiled the curtain displaying the Environment Day theme, symbolically marking the beginning of the celebration. A special highlight of the programme was the tree plantation activity, reminding everyone that every tree planted today is a gift to future generations.

The first part of the celebration concluded with a message that nature is not just something we inherit, but something we must preserve with care and compassion.

Part 2: Cultural Celebration and Creative Expressions

The second part of the program continued in the school auditorium with a series of creative presentations by our students.  The session began with a welcome address by Kathie Ma’am, followed by an introduction to our Chief Guest and her remarkable journey in wildlife photography and filmmaking by Sharron Ma’am.

Students then presented a beautiful dance and scene display, choreographed with great effort and creativity by Priyanka Ma’am and Shyla Ma’am. The performance beautifully portrayed the connection between humans, animals, and nature.

A special speech was presented highlighting the achievements and contributions of Ms. Geena Anoop, inspiring students to explore their talents and develop a deeper respect for the environment.    The programme also included meaningful performances and presentations that carried the message of environmental conservation, reminding us that even small actions can create a big impact.

The celebration was not just an event but an experience that encouraged every student to become a responsible guardian of nature.  As we conclude this memorable celebration, let us carry forward the message of Environment Day — to love nature, protect our planet, and work together towards a greener and healthier future.
