CISCE National Table Tennis Championship Concludes at Don Bosco Central School; Karnataka–Goa Region Crowned Overall Champions

Irinjalakuda: The CISCE National Table Tennis Championship, organised by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), concluded at Don Bosco Central School, Irinjalakuda, with the Karnataka–Goa Region emerging as the Overall Champions.
The prestigious national-level championship witnessed the participation of nearly 250 young athletes representing 16 regions across the country. The concluding ceremony was graced by Adv. Thomas Unniyadan, MLA, Irinjalakuda Constituency, as the Chief Guest.Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Vattakkunnel, Rector and Manager of Don Bosco Schools, delivered the welcome address.
In the Under-14 category, Maharashtra secured the first position, while West Bengal finished second and Karnataka–Goa secured third place. In the Under-17 category, Karnataka–Goa emerged victorious, followed by Maharashtra in second place and West Bengal in third. In the Under-19 category, the North East Region secured the top position, with Tamil Nadu–Puducherry–Andaman & Nicobar Islands finishing second and Uttar Pradesh taking third place.With an impressive total of 25 points, the Karnataka–Goa Region secured the Overall Championship, demonstrating outstanding consistency and performance across the categories.
In the individual events, Raghav Gautam Mahajan of Maharashtra emerged as the Under-14 Individual Champion. Vedant Vashisht of the Karnataka–Goa Region won the Under-17 Individual Championship, while Rainash Narasimhan of the Tamil Nadu–Puducherry–Andaman & Nicobar Islands Region was crowned Under-19 Individual Champion.
The outstanding performances of the players and teams were recognised during the concluding ceremony, where trophies and medals were presented to the winners and deserving participants.Rev. Fr. Shino Kalappurakkal, CISCE Kerala Region Sports Coordinator and ASISC Kerala Regional Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
The ceremony was attended by Rev. Fr. Jithin Michael, Principal, Don Bosco Central School; Rev. Fr. Shibu Davis, Administrator, Don Bosco School; Rev. Fr. Sebastian Ottaplackal, Spiritual Animator, Don Bosco School; Mrs. Sharika Sivaprasad, PTA President, Don Bosco Central School; Mrs. Bindu Babu, Sports Coordinator, Don Bosco Central School; and Mr. Soumya Banerjee, Table Tennis Coach, Don Bosco Central School, among other dignitaries and officials.
The CISCE National-Level Table Tennis Championship for Girls is scheduled to commence on August 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Don Bosco Central School. The championship will be inaugurated by Smt. K. A. Thulasi, Minister for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare, Government of Kerala.
