Service in Action: Don Bosco Youth Celebrate Rajyotsava with Roadside Cleanup
To celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava through active community service, the members of the Don Bosco Youth Group Horamavu organized a cleanliness drive on 1 November 2026. Gathering near the Don Bosco Mithra School between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM, the youngsters took on the responsibility of tackling the garbage dumped along the roadside stretch. The initiative was planned thoroughly to ensure that the celebration of state heritage was paired with a practical commitment to civic consciousness and environmental care.
Equipped with cleaning supplies and waste sacks, the youth rolled up their sleeves and systematically cleared the area of accumulated plastic waste, discarded packaging, and roadside debris. Working in well-coordinated teams, they gathered a substantial volume of garbage, restoring cleanliness to the stretch while gaining valuable firsthand experience in community upkeep.
The effort did not go unnoticed, as local residents and passersby stopped to encourage the group, commending their proactive service and dedication to the locality. By 5:30 PM, the stretch was left clean and tidy, standing as a testament to what motivated youth action can accomplish. The cleaning concluded on an inspiring note, demonstrating that meaningful service to society is among the finest ways to mark a day of regional pride.
