Children’s Parliament at Don Bosco College, Sulthan Bathery
Children’s Parliament is an inclusive and democratic body for the development of the rights of children. It intends to provide awareness and understanding of the power of children’s right and to provide proper guidance in maintaining their rights.
Don Bosco College, Sulthan Bathery has organized Children’s Parliament 2022 on 11 November 2022. Dr. Johnson Ponthempilly SDB, Principal, Don Bosco College, welcomed the gathering. The programme was blessed with an eminent panel of chief guests from various departments of the society. The panel included Ubaidulla C (Sub –Judge, Secretary DLSA Wayanad), Sreelakshmi IAS (Sub- Collector and Sub Divisional Magistrate), Noorunnisa M (Munsiff Magistrate, Sulthan Bathery), T K Ramesh (Chairperson, Municipality, Sulthan Bathery), Jose K E (Chairperson, CWC Wayand), Vinod Pillai (Addl. Superintendent of Police, Wayanad), E Mohandas (RTO, Wayanad), Muhammed (Dist. Information Officer), C K Dinesh (Director, Child line Wayand).
Children’s Parliament focused on the relevant issues that has to be discussed and solved.
Students from different schools of Wayand district participated in the programme. The programme gave an opportunity for the students to raise their questions and to represent their voice, ideas and opinions regarding various issues around them. The chief guests in the panel analysed the issues and concerns raised by the students and provided proper solutions regarding their concerns. The panel also focused on the changes that has to be made in the education sector. The authorities made sure that every right of the students will be properly maintained.
1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. The session was followed by the cultural activities conducted by the students of Don Bosco College, Sulthan Bathery. The formal session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Vidhu V (DLSA, Wayand).
