SATTWA 2k23- College Day Celebrations of Don Bosco College, Sultan Bathery

Don Bosco College, Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad hosted its 18th college day with the title Sattwa 2k23. Sattwa 2023 will be the culmination of the academic year’s intent, its events, and the academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular performances of the students. It acted as a forum for expressing gratitude to all the stakeholders. The best among the students in various categories were felicitated with PTA Scholarships.

Etymologically, the Sanskrit term ‘Sattwa’ defines is a calming force that ultimately merges into the eternal spirit. We, at Don Bosco, seek Sattwa 2023 both as the culmination of the academic year 2022- 2023 and also as the link to the forthcoming academic year. The lessons and accomplishments of this year will lead us to greater heights in the arena of Higher Education. The faculty coordinators Ms. Sanitha IS and Mr Riyas EM facilitated the Student Council Members towards the execution of the much anticipated day, Sattwa 2k23.

Sattwa being inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais. Sattwa 2k23 was inaugurated in a grand inaugural function in the college auditorium on 23 February 2023 at 01:30 pm. The inaugural session began with a prayer. The welcome speech was rendered by the Student Council member Mohammed Swalih, II MSW. This was followed by Felicitation by Dr. Antony Thekkedath, Rector and Manager spoke on the need to be resourceful and appreciate each other. Mr. Abin Binoy, The College Student Council chairman also spoke on the occasion. The Chief Guest of the day, Rev. Severious Thomas spoke on the need to balance the various aspects of life and also entertained the audience with his mellifluous songs. This was followed by the Annual College Report being presented by the Principal, Dr. Johnson Ponthempilly SDB. The report was presented in a presentation on the screen depicting all the events of the academic year 2022-2023. The Chief Guest of the day, Rev. Rev. Cinto Jose, the Administrator, in the felicitation address spoke on the beauty of togetherness and harmony in friendship. Ms. Priya Philip, the IQAC Coordinator also spoke on the beauty of college days that challenge us to imbibe inclusivity and yet help us maintain our uniqueness. Mr. Antony PP, the Vice Principal congratulated the efforts of the students in organizing the event.
The students who received the PTA Scholarships were facilitated during the event. The inaugural session concluded at 2: 40 pm with the Vote of thanks by Student Coordinator Ms. Nandhana from II BCom.

The next session was a plethora of cultural events by students of all departments. The final event was a live music band session by the troop Rooh Collective, Ernakulam The college day celebrations concluded by 8 pm. The ROMANCHAM Malayalam movie crew visited the college during the college day celebration and addressed the gathering
