Don Bosco College Celebrates First Graduation Day: A Symphony of Success
Don Bosco College, Sulthan Bathery, marked a historic milestone with its inaugural Graduation Day, held on January 6, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm. The elegant ceremony saw proud graduates from the UG batches of 2020-2023 and PG batches of 2021-2023 receive their well-deserved accolades.
The momentous occasion commenced with a solemn academic procession graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Chief Guest Dr. Godwin Samraj DP, controllers of Examinations, Calicut University, Principal Dr. Johnson Ponthempilly SDB, Rector and Manager Rev. Dr. Antony Thekkedath, and Administrator Rev. Fr. Cinto Kannaen. Invoking the divine blessings, a prayer song set the tone for a day filled with celebration and reflection.
Principal Dr. Johnson Ponthempilly SDB warmly welcomed the graduates, parents, and the Don Bosco community, emphasizing the significance of this inaugural ceremony. Rector and Manager Rev. Dr. Antony Thekkedath delivered a compelling presidential address, inspiring graduates to become agents of positive change in the world.
The highlight of the event was the address by Chief Guest Dr. Godwin Samraj DP. He commended the tireless efforts of the faculty and management in shaping the minds and futures of their students. Acknowledging Don Bosco College’s unwavering commitment to social good, Dr. Samraj praised its collaborations with government agencies and NGOs. He then offered valuable advice to the graduates, urging them to stay consistent and professional and embrace the values of humanity, tolerance, and peace.
The Administrator, Rev. Fr. Cinto Kannaen, congratulated the graduates on their success. The ceremony reached its apex with the solemn oath-taking ceremony, led by Principal Dr. Ponthempilly, where graduates pledged to uphold the values instilled in them during their time at Don Bosco. Each department head then proudly presented course completion certificates to their respective graduates.
Movingly expressing the graduates’ heartfelt gratitude, Mr. Robin Biju, a graduate from the MSW class of 2021-2023, delivered the Vote of Thanks. As the National Anthem resonated through the auditorium, the academic procession departed, marking the culmination of a remarkable day etched in the history of Don Bosco College.
