Children’s Day Celebrations at Kristu Jyoti College: A Day of Joy, Learning, and Unity
Bangalore, November 10, 2024 — The Social Service Guild celebrated a heartwarming Children’s Day event at Kristu Jyoti College, with the enthusiastic support of the first-year theology students. The event, held on November 10th, brought together children from various centers, and was an inspiring celebration of talent, joy, and community spirit.
The celebration was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Prashant Fernandes, Principal of Cambridge School, T. C. Palya, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring message on the importance of education, values, and community engagement in the lives of young people. His words encouraged the children to pursue their dreams and live a life filled with purpose, grounded in faith and service to others. He along with his friend Mr. Akbar Y E, a popular playback singer enthralled the gathering by singing two popular songs.
The morning session kicked off with a series of cultural performances by children from various Salesian centers. The young performers filled the space with vibrant dances, songs, and skits, showcasing their creativity and talent. A special highlight of the morning was a beautiful prayer dance presented by the Bon Secours candidates, which captivated everyone present with its grace and spiritual significance.
As part of the celebrations, a variety of competitions were also organized across the centers in areas such as drawing, singing, and storytelling. The children participated with great enthusiasm, and the prize distribution ceremony recognized the winners for their hard work and creativity. It was a proud moment for all involved, as the focus was not just on competition, but on encouraging and celebrating the children’s unique gifts.
After the morning session, the children enjoyed a sumptuous lunch, which was provided as part of the day’s celebrations. The meal was a welcome treat and an opportunity for the children to relax and socialize with friends.
In the afternoon, the children participated in a series of fun-filled games, including relay races, tug-of-war, and other interactive activities that encouraged teamwork and friendly competition. The children’s energy and excitement were palpable, creating an atmosphere of laughter and joy.
The evening snacks were kindly sponsored by BREADS, and the children were able to enjoy a variety of treats, adding to the festive spirit of the day. The support of BREADS ensured that the children had a nourishing and enjoyable time after a long day of fun and activities.
A special note of thanks was extended to FIDES, Avalahalli for their generous contribution of Kissan squash for all the children. The Salesian Cooperators were also recognized for their invaluable support, both for sponsoring the event and for their active presence.
