Students of Don Bosco Central School, Angamaly Visit Naval Base, Kochi for an Inspiring Experience
On 18th November 2024, the students of class IX and XI were taken to the Naval Base, Kochi. We reached our destination by 9.45 a.m. we were accompanied by officers Nidhi Kumari and Ujala Singh, who guided us to the warship. We were welcomed graciously by our hosts who provided us with refreshments.
Shortly afterwards, an officer took us to the bow of the warship, INS Veer, where we were currently on. The officer briefed on the working and splendour of the warship. Although the sun was quiet harsh on us, the gentle breeze was brushing past us.
They took us to Garuda, the runway, where the aircrafts landed and took off, we were shown 4 aircrafts and its uses. Most of them were used in many rescue operations during the annual floods in Kerala.
We were also taken to the exhibition place, filled with engines and equipment used by Indian Navy. We finally bid farewell almost around 1’ O clock at noon. They served us refreshments as token of gratitude.
All of us where very much amazed about the working of all the warships and aircrafts. We also felt proud of the officers who went through rigorous training, discipline and many sacrifices to protect our country from enemies. The feeling of patriotism filled us by the time we left the Naval Base.
