KNOCON-2025: Focusing on Education and Child Welfare

The two-day Kalyana Karnataka Division Level Knowledge Partners Conference (KNOCON-2025) was inaugurated on Friday at the Prekhshagriha Meeting Hall of the University of Agricultural Sciences in Raichur on Feb 16, 2025. The event was attended by key educational stakeholders from seven districts, including Deputy Directors of Public Instruction (DDPI), members of the District Education and Training Institute (DIET), the Newly Constituted ‘Expert Committee on Education for Kalayana Karnataka’, and various education partners.

Deputy Commissioner of the region, Mr. Nitish K., was the chief guest and delivered the keynote address. He emphasized the need for prioritizing educational progress and the eradication of malnutrition among children in the Kalyana Karnataka region. He highlighted that these two areas are vital for the overall development of the region and the future of its youth.

Fr. Kuriakose, Director of the Don Bosco Society of Gulbarga, made an important intervention focusing on the issue of school dropouts, particularly from children working in brick industries, and emphasized the importance of rehabilitation and readmission programs for these children to ensure that they receive proper education and are reintegrated into the schooling system.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Commissionerate Office of Kalaburagi, the Department of School Education, and Hutti Gold Mines Company Limited.
