CHITHRA Don Bosco organizes a three-day residential summer camp BESIGE BESUGE 2025
CHITHRA Don Bosco organization organized a three-day residential summer camp from 14th April 2025, to 16th April 2025, under the title “Besige Besuge 2025” for the children of evening study centers of CHITHRA Don Bosco at CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga. The inaugural ceremony of this camp was held on April 14th, 2025 at 11 am. Dr. Swamy, Environmentalist inaugurated the program. Rev. Fr. V M Mathew Sdb, (Administrator & In charge of CHITHRA Don Bosco), Rev. Fr. John Paul Sdb (Administrator of Don Bosco Institutions), Rev. Fr. K C Mathew Sdb (Principal of Don Bosco ICSE school, Chitradurga), Dc. Anthonyraj Sdb (Director of CHITHRA Don Bosco), Miss. Nidhishree (Karnataka State Level President of Bosco Youth Services). Mr. Benak Raj (Zonal Level President of Bosco Youth Services). Miss. Prerana, and representatives of the children were the guests of the program who inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, CHITHRA Don Bosco celebrated Dr. B R Ambedkar’s birthday. Mrs. Bhagya spoke about our national leader, Constitution architect Dr. B R Ambedkar.
Miss. Nidhishree (Karnataka State Level President of Bosco Youth Services) delivered a key note.
Rev. Fr. K C Mathew Sdb (Principal of Don Bosco ICSE School, Chitradurga) stated that such camps play a vital role in the all-round development of children.
Environmentalist Dr. Swami spoke on the importance of promoting indigenous materials, controlling environmental pollution, reducing plastic usage and recycling, while also educating the children on environmental protection.
A dental health check-up was conducted for the children by SJM Dental College & Hospital.
Dr. Manjunath and Kumari Rebecca from the District Government Hospital created awareness on mental health among the participants.
Mr. Gyanesh, a progressive organic farmer, educated the children on the importance of organic farming.
Children enthusiastically took part in music, dance, meditation, yoga, painting, craft, campfire sessions, and entertaining traditional games. The district fire officers and staff also conducted a demonstration on handling fire accidents.
Around 200 children—including those from evening study centers across various villages and participants from the Eco and Minds projects—benefited from the camp.
At the closing ceremony, Fr. V. M. Mathew, Administrative Officer of CHITHRA Don Bosco, addressed the children and inspired them to become achievers who seek pearls in the ocean of life. On this occasion, prizes were distributed to the children.
