Industrial Visit Report: Don Bosco ITI, KGF

On 7th May 2025, the trainees of Don Bosco ITI, KGF, undertook an industrial visit to TIDC (Tube Investments of India – Diamond Chain) in Ambattur. The visit took place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A total of 51 trainees and 7 Junior Training Officers (JTOs), accompanied by the Principal and the Rector, participated in the visit.

The programme began with an introductory session focused on safety protocols, followed by a guided tour of the production unit. The trainees observed the fascinating process of chain manufacturing for various types of vehicles. It was particularly interesting to witness how metal sheets are transformed into different chain components through precision engineering and heat treatment. The visit concluded with a demonstration of the final products being packed for dispatch.

Following the factory tour, the participants were treated to a sumptuous lunch. This was followed by an interactive Q&A session with Mr. Vineeth, the HR Head of TIDC, who addressed several queries from the trainees.

Later, the group visited Marina Beach, one of the city’s most popular attractions. The next day, they embarked on an enjoyable excursion to Mahabalipuram. The group returned to KGF on 9th May, enriched by both industrial exposure and cultural experiences.
