Youth Service Delegates of Karnataka Meet To Plan For The Future

The Local Youth Service Delegates of Karnataka met on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Bengaluru to chart path for future. The meeting began with a short and meaningful prayer service, setting a reflective tone for the day’s proceedings.

Fr. Dilip Gnanaprakash, the Regional Youth Director of Karnataka, warmly welcomed all the delegates. This was followed by an introduction and orientation about the purpose and goals of the meeting, delivered by Fr. K. O. Varghese, the Youth Pastoral Delegate of the Province.

Each of the local youth directors then shared brief reports on the youth ministry being carried out in their respective communities. These presentations highlighted both the strengths and the challenges faced in their efforts to accompany and empower young people.

In the afternoon session, both Rev.Fr. Jose Koyickal, the Provincial and Fr. Shalbin Kalanchery, the Vice Provincial addressed the gathering. They offered words of encouragement, urging the directors to remain deeply passionate for God and for the young people they serve.

The meeting concluded with zonal-level discussions. Directors gathered in their respective zones to collaboratively plan programmes for the annual year 2025–26. Each zone then presented their proposals, offering concrete suggestions to strengthen and move forward the youth ministry across Karnataka.

The meeting was marked by a spirit of collaboration, shared mission, and renewed commitment to the holistic development of young people in the Salesian tradition.
