The Celebration of Makkalotsava–2025 and Kannada Rajyotsava were celebrated at CHITHRA Don Bosco Social Work Society

“EVERY RIGHT FOR EVERY CHILD”

CHITHRA Don Bosco, in collaboration with the Rotary Club Chinmuladri (RID 3160), grandly organized Makkalotsava–2025 and Kannada Rajyotsava on November 16, 2025, in the presence of more than 350 children from the evening school study centers of various villages in Chitradurga district, the services rendered by CHITHRA Don Bosco Social Work Society.

The event commenced with the inauguration of Chance Games at 10 AM, led by Rev. Fr. Felix Serrao SDB (Administrator and In Charge of CHITHRA Don Bosco), Dc. Anthonyraj SDB (Director, CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga),  Mrs. Dilshad Unnisa (President, Rotary Club, and Panel Advocate, DLSA Chitradurga), Mr. Arun Kumar P C (Secretary, Parivarthana Rural and Urban Development Organization, Molakalmuru), Sr. Litti Thomas (Teacher, Don Bosco ICSE School, Chitradurga), Mr. Daniel (District President of Bosco Youth Services and Lecturer, Don Bosco Degree College) and Ms. Nidhi Sri (State President of Bosco Youth Services) jointly inaugurated the games with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official start of the festivities.

The celebrations were vibrant and joyful, with children actively taking part in 12 different chance games. Each game was thoughtfully planned to be fun, engaging, and interactive, giving the children an opportunity to enjoy friendly competition and togetherness. To appreciate their participation, the winners of these games received various gifts, filling them with happiness and pride.

At 11:30 AM, the focus shifted to showing the talents of the children through group dance and singing competitions. These competitions provided a platform for the children to display their creativity, teamwork, and vocal skills.

The events were coordinated by Mrs. Anthony Theresa and Mr. Somalingappa. The judges for the dance competition were Ms. Keerthana (Student of Don Bosco Degree College, Chitradurga), Ms. Rinki (Lecturer of Don Bosco Degree College, Chitradurga) and Ms. Jenny  Chinniechong (Student of Don Bosco Degree College, Chitradurga). The judges for the singing competition were Mrs. Renuka, (Molakalmuru), Mr. Arun Kumar PC (Secretary of Parivartana Rural and Urban Development Organization, Molakalmuru) and Mrs. Bharathi (Joint Secretary of Rotary Club Chinmuladri, Chitradurga).

Following the competitions, the children had delicious lunch which is well-prepared meal provided a moment of relaxation and joy, to recharge and continue enjoying the celebration.

After lunch, all the children gathered in the hall, where they watched ashort film on mental health awareness. The message was raising awareness about the importance of mental well-being.

The stage program began at 2:00 PM with a prayer song beautifully sung by the children of the JB Halli Evening School Study Center. A warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Rakshitha, MINDS project’s Counselor of CHITHRA Don Bosco.

Rev. Fr. Maria Praveen sdb (Principal of Don Bosco States School, Chitradurga) was an Inaugurator of the program. Mrs. Girija (Respected BEO of Chitradurga), Dc. Anthonyraj sdb (Director of CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga), Mrs. Dilshad Unnisa (President of Rotary Club and Panel Advocate of DLSA, Chitradurga), Mr. Sathish (Project Director, Labour Department, Chitradurga), Mr. Ranganath & Mr. Jagadish (Members of the Child Welfare Committee, Chitradurga), Ms. Spoorthy (Animal rescuer, Chitradurga), and Master Md. Ali & Miss. Janaki (Representatives of the children) were the guests who adorned the stage.

Dc. Anthonyraj SDB, Director of CHITHRA Don Bosco, delivered the keynote address, where he eloquently explained the objectives of celebrating Makkalotsava.

Following the address, the program was inaugurated by all the dignitaries on the stage through lit the lamp and offering the flowers to the portrait of Mother Bhuvaneshwari .

Mrs. Girija, Respected BEO of Chitradurga, addressed the gathering, extended her warm wishes of Children’s day & Kannada Rajyotsava to everyone, and spoke proudly about the richness of the Kannada language and the heritage of Karnataka.

Mr. Ranganath, a member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), addressed the children, explained about the Child Helpline 1098, and provided detailed information about the functions of the Child Welfare Committee.

Mr. Sathish (Project Director, Labour Department, Chitradurga), gave the information about the facilities which are available in Labour department.

Ms. Spoorthy, an animal rescuer, Chitradurga, spoke passionately about the importance of animal conservation. After that she delighted the audience by singing a beautiful song.

All the guests were felicitated during the occasion.

Prizes were distributed to the children who had won the various competitions. Bosco Youth Group members and the students from Don Bosco Degree College performed a cultural program. Then juice, biscuits were distributed to all the children, concluded with a group photo.

Teachers from 9 study centers 14 volunteers, Bosco Youth Members, SHG members, Students from Don Bosco Degree college, CHITHRA staffs and 350 children were present for the program.
