Fr Jince George Defends His Doctoral Thesis at Pontifical Gregorian University
On Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at 4:00 p.m., in Aula C012 of the Collegium Maximum at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Rev. Fr Jince George successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in Biblical Theology in the Faculty of Theology.
The dissertation, entitled “The Divine and Human Agents in Salvation. A Response to Some Incongruencies of Contemporary Biblical Literature on Pauline Soteriology in Romans”, offered an in-depth examination of the relationship between divine action and human response in the mystery of salvation, with particular focus on Pauline soteriology in the Letter to the Romans.
The dissertation won the highest praise of the Doctoral Evaluation team and the guide Dr. Eduardo Maria Palma who appreciated the hard work and dedication of Fr. Jince throughout the doctoral studies. Rev. Fr. Biju Michael, Regional Counselor South Asia, Rev. Fr. MENDONÇA Jose Anibal, Provincial, Sede Della Sapienza Province, Rome, Rev. Frs. Thomas Anchukandom & Jose Kuttianimattathil, ex provincials of the Sacred Heart of Province of Bangalore, confreres, friends and many scripture scholars and enthusiasts graced the occasion with their presence and support for the newly conferred Doctor.
