Don Bosco Mysore Inaugurates Marian Month 2026″The Marian Effect: Live the Yes”

Mysore, July 2026: The Aspirants and Prenovices of Don Bosco Mysore solemnly inaugurated Marian Month 2026 with a meaningful celebration centred on the theme “The Marian Effect: Live the Yes.” The programme invited the young Salesians in formation to deepen their devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and to imitate her wholehearted response to God’s call.

The celebration commenced with the Blessing of the Marian Arena, invoking the intercession of the Blessed Mother upon the month-long programme of prayer, formation, and fraternity. This was followed by an inspiring introduction that reflected on how Mary’s humble “Yes” transformed the history of salvation and continues to inspire every disciple of Christ.

The highlight of the inauguration was the unveiling of the Marian Month theme and logo, The Marian Effect: Live the Yes. The unveiling was accompanied by the launch of the official Marian Month theme song, creating an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm as the community embarked on this spiritual journey.

The proclamation of the Word of God from the Gospel of the Annunciation (Luke 1:26–38) reminded everyone that Mary’s “Yes” was born of attentive listening and complete trust in God’s will. In his message, the Rector encouraged the Aspirants and Prenovices to make Mary’s response their own by embracing lives of prayer, obedience, generosity, and joyful service. He reminded them that every sincere “Yes” to God becomes an opportunity for grace to work in their lives and in the lives of others.

The Rector then officially released the Marian Month Booklet, which outlines the spiritual, cultural, and community activities planned for the month. Following this, he inaugurated the “Live the Yes” Signature Campaign by placing the first signature on a transparent commitment panel. The Fathers, Brothers, Aspirants, and Prenovices subsequently added their signatures as a symbolic pledge to live Mary’s virtues throughout the Marian Month. This commitment wall will remain a visible reminder of their desire to respond generously to God’s call.

The inauguration also featured a multimedia presentation introducing the six teams and the various spiritual, cultural, literary, artistic, and sporting events planned for the month. These activities have been thoughtfully designed to foster fraternity, creativity, and Marian devotion among the formees.

The celebration concluded with the Marian Prayer and the Holy Rosary, entrusting the entire Marian Month to the loving care and maternal protection of Our Blessed Mother.

The inauguration marked the beginning of a grace-filled journey for the Aspirants and Prenovices of Don Bosco Mysore. Inspired by the theme “The Marian Effect: Live the Yes,” they now look forward to a month of prayer, formation, community life, and joyful participation, striving to make Mary’s faithful “Yes” a living reality in their own vocation and daily lives.
