Meeting of rectors and those in charge of presences organized at don bosco provincial house bangalore
Bangalore:The Meeting of Rectors and Those In-Charge of Presences was successfully held at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore, on 25–26 July 2026, bringing together Salesian Rectors and leaders from across the Province for two days of prayer, formation, dialogue, and collaborative planning. The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on key pastoral priorities while strengthening the shared mission of serving young people with renewed commitment.
The programme commenced with prayer, welcome, and an inaugural session led by Fr. Jose Koyickal SDB, Provincial, who encouraged participants to continue fostering communities rooted in the Salesian spirit of service and accompaniment. The meeting combined moments of spiritual renewal with practical discussions on issues relevant to the Province and its ministries.
One of the key highlights of the gathering was the formation session by Fr. Robert Pen SDB on the Effective Use of the Psychosexual Integration Manual with the Formees, which offered valuable insights into accompanying young Salesians in their formation journey. On the second day, Fr. Robert Pen also addressed the growing challenge of mobile addiction, equipping participants with practical approaches to understanding and responding to its impact on young people.
The programme also featured important sessions on Province Matters, fostering dialogue on current priorities and future directions for the Province. Participants further benefited from presentations on FCRA Amendments by Fr. Joy Nedumparambil SDB and Writing Chronicles by Fr. Anthony Mahimai Dass SDB, both of which provided practical guidance for administration and documentation within Salesian communities.
Alongside the formation sessions, participants joined together in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, Morning and Evening Prayer, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the Rosary, and the traditional Goodnight Talk, reinforcing the spiritual dimension of the gathering.
The meeting concluded on Sunday afternoon with tea and departure, leaving participants inspired and better equipped to animate their respective communities with renewed zeal and a deeper commitment to the Salesian mission. The gathering brought together 51 participants, representing Salesian presences across the Province.
