A Life Rewritten: Shyam’s Journey from Survival to Stability
Shyam Sundar’s life is a poignant chapter in the enduring saga of Don Bosco Sneha Bhavan—a journey from abandonment to belonging, from survival to dignity. Found as a four-year-old child on railway tracks, begging and cleaning compartments to survive, Shyam entered Sneha Bhavan as a deeply vulnerable boy with no sense of home or security. Over the next 25 years, he was embraced by a community that offered not just shelter, but love, stability, education, and guidance. Through holistic care and vocational training, Shyam grew into a skilled electrician and plumber, eventually securing employment in the Gulf. His transformation reflects the very essence of Sneha Bhavan’s mission—to help children rewrite their stories with hope and purpose.
This journey of healing came full circle as Shyam stepped into a new life of his own. On February 26, 2026, he married Meenakshi Gouda, and soon after, returned to Sneha Bhavan to celebrate his wedding reception among the people who raised him. The occasion was marked with joy and pride, attended by civic leaders including the Mayor of Kochi, who personally blessed the couple. For Sneha Bhavan, Shyam’s story is not just a success—it is a living testimony of what sustained care, compassion, and opportunity can achieve. From the uncertainty of railway tracks to the warmth of family life, Shyam’s journey stands as a powerful reminder that every child, when given love and support, can build a future filled with dignity and hope.
